Waste Management:
The materials that we consume and dispose of everyday are all made of finite natural resources. Reducing our consumption, reusing products and recycling waste materials helps to conserve the natural resources associated with producing these products.
Waste Management is passionate about finding environmental solutions that save money, make good sense for communities and make the world a greener place.
The facility overview will feature information about recycling, how materials are processed at the SMaRT Center and ways that we can all help to reduce, reuse and recycle more. Presentations will be held in our education center and feature live video feed of materials being processed in the facility. Due to safety limitations, we are not able to provide facility tours to individuals under 18 years of age.
Facility overviews and educational presentations are provided on a limited basis to age groups 8-18. Tour groups strictly limited to a total of not more than 40 visitors. SkyScouts Rental:
The SkyScout is a handheld, battery powered device. It has a viewing port, a 3" x 1" LCD display on the side and several buttons for controlling and selecting device functions. The SkyScout has a 12 channel GPS receiver and orientation sensors that measure location and pointing angle. From an internal database of some 6,000 celestial objects an object is identified simply by centering it in the device's zero-power optical finder and pressing a button.
The LCD screen displays the name of the object (star, planet, deep sky object, etc.) and other relevant data. The SkyScout will also locate an object; the user selects the desired object from the database and red arrows in the viewfinder direct the user to point the viewfinder to the object.
Cost: For $25 the troops may rent 3 SkyScouts for 2 weeks at a time, spend a few evenings with your friends checking out the stars and learning to recognize different constellations.

GPS Units Rental:
A Global Positioning System, also known as GPS, is a system designed to help navigate on the Earth, in the air, and on water. A GPS receiver shows where it is. It may also show how fast it is moving, which direction it is going, how high it is, and maybe how fast it is going up or down.
Many GPS receivers have information about places. GPSs for automobiles have travel data like road maps, hotels, restaurants, and service stations. GPSs for boats contain nautical charts of harbors, marinas, shallow water, rocks, and waterways. Other GPS receivers are made for air navigation, hiking and backpacking, bicycling, or many other activities. The majority are in smartphones. Most GPS receivers can record where they have been, and help plan a journey. While traveling a planned journey, it predicts the time to the next destination.
Cost: For $25 the troops may rent 10 GPS Units for 2 weeks at a time. Enjoy a fun week hiking or geocaching.
